About This Tour Package

Many families plan a 2 Jyotirlinga with Shirdi tour package from Pune because it fits three days neatly and covers three revered destinations without constant backtracking. Maharashtra is home to several Jyotirlingas, and this circuit chooses two of them, Trimbakeshwar near Nashik and Grishneshwar near Ellora, with Shirdi in the middle as the spiritual anchor.

Cab Service Pune organises the road portion so that elders in the group can focus on darshan and prayer. The cab, the driver and the day-wise timing are all discussed before you start.

Why This Combination Works

The three stops lie roughly along an arc north and north-east of Pune, so you move forward each day instead of returning to the same point. Trimbakeshwar is known for its connection to the source of the Godavari river and the Brahmagiri hills. Shirdi is the town of Sai Baba. Grishneshwar, near the Ellora caves, is considered the last of the twelve Jyotirlingas in many traditional lists.

For many devotees, this is a meaningful trip, and for others it is a good first yatra with a manageable schedule.

Route Overview and Distances

Pune to Trimbakeshwar is about 210 to 230 km via Nashik, typically five to six hours. Trimbakeshwar to Shirdi is around 90 to 100 km, close to two and a half to three hours. Shirdi to Grishneshwar is roughly 120 to 140 km, around three hours, and the final leg from Ellora back to Pune is about 250 km or five to six hours. Times vary with traffic and festival crowds.

Tolls and parking are normally charged at actuals unless an all-inclusive quote is given to you in advance.

Day 1: Pune to Trimbakeshwar

Depart Pune early, ideally around 5:30 am, so that you reach Trimbakeshwar by late morning. Trimbakeshwar is a small town near Nashik that gets very busy on Mondays, festival days and during Shravan, so queues can be long. Check current darshan timings, special entry rules and dress code before you go.

If time allows, many pilgrims also visit Kushavart Kund, a sacred tank close to the temple, and look at the Brahmagiri hill from the town. Overnight stay can be in Trimbakeshwar or Nashik, and hotel stay can be coordinated on request.

Day 2: Trimbakeshwar to Shirdi

After an early morning darshan or a relaxed breakfast, drive south to Shirdi. The road passes through the plains of Nashik and Ahilyanagar districts and is generally straightforward. You should reach Shirdi by around midday and check in.

Spend the afternoon at the Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir complex, which includes Dwarkamai and Chavadi, the places linked to Sai Baba's life. Aarti timings are fixed and queues can be long, so check the current schedule and ask your hotel or us about darshan assistance. Evening is a good time to walk through the market for photographs, prasad and keepsakes.

  • Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir for darshan
  • Dwarkamai and Chavadi for the associated sites
  • Lendi Baug garden if you want a quiet walk
  • Overnight stay in Shirdi

Day 3: Shirdi to Grishneshwar and Return to Pune

Leave Shirdi by about 6:00 am and head toward Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, formerly Aurangabad, and then to Verul, where the Grishneshwar temple stands close to the Ellora caves. The temple is compact and often quieter than the others, though weekends can be busy. Men may be asked to remove shirts in some parts of the temple, so follow the instructions on the day and check current rules.

If time and energy remain, glance at the Kailasa temple at Ellora, a remarkable rock-cut structure, but note that a full Ellora visit deserves a separate half-day. After darshan, start the drive back to Pune, reaching home by late evening or night.

Best Time to Visit

October to February is the most comfortable season for travel. Summers can be hot, especially around Shirdi and Sambhajinagar. The monsoon makes the Nashik hills green but can slow the roads, and Trimbakeshwar sees heavy crowds in Shravan. Whenever you go, avoid peak festival days if you prefer a quieter darshan.

Which Vehicle to Choose

A Swift Dzire is comfortable for a couple or a small family. For five to seven pilgrims, an Ertiga or Innova Crysta provides better legroom and space for luggage over about 800 km. Larger groups of relatives or society members can book a Tempo Traveller, a Force Urbania or even a bus on request.

Tips for Pilgrims

Dress simply and modestly. Carry ID cards, a small bag for temple offerings if allowed, a water bottle and any regular medicines. Mobile phones, bags and sometimes leather items are not allowed inside certain temples, so travel light and use cloakrooms provided.

  • Wear footwear that is easy to remove
  • Avoid carrying large bags to the temple queue
  • Keep small change for prasad and offerings
  • Confirm temple rules a day ahead, as they can change

Beware of touts who offer fast-track passes at high prices. Use only official counters or the arrangements recommended by your hotel.

Safety and Comfort

Our drivers are experienced on the Pune-Nashik and Sambhajinagar highways and prefer to avoid late-night driving when possible. Plan breaks every two to three hours, particularly for elders. If someone has a health condition, tell us before the trip so that we can schedule rest stops and easier darshan timings.

Keeping the Yatra Comfortable for Elders

Many groups on this circuit include senior family members, so pace matters more than speed. Cab Service Pune plans regular tea and rest halts, keeps luggage easy to load and lets you decide when to start each day. Please tell us at booking about any walking difficulty, so that darshan help and drop points close to the temples can be arranged where possible.

How Booking Works

Share your dates, group size, pickup point and preferred overnight stops, and we will confirm the plan. The fare is shared before the trip. Hotel stay, darshan and ticket assistance can be coordinated on request, so confirm these when booking. If you want to swap a Jyotirlinga, for example Bhimashankar instead of Grishneshwar, or add Ellora and Ajanta, we can customise the itinerary.
